NMC Virtual Three Peaks Challenge
Time & Location
About The Event
Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon: the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales which together, make up the infamous Three Peaks Challenge. With a combined height of 3,407m, these three mountains are not for the faint-hearted, and we are offering you an exciting opportunity to take on this amazing challenge…well, sort of!
We challenge you to walk, jog, run 55km or 72,180 steps within 30 days. 55km is equal to the walking distance up and down each of the Three Peaks, which is no easy task. Our virtual challenge allows you to complete this up and down the hallways and in your own home, in your back garden, your local park or even your kitchen…providing you socially distance from other people!
If your mobility makes walking too difficult / impossible, why not complete the distance on an exercise bike, hand or foot pedals or even a tricycle if you have one?
This challenge is open to anyone, and all you’ll need is a pedometer – most smartphones have these inbuilt, or there are lots of free apps that will track your steps for you. It doesn’t matter if you’re brand new to fitness or you’re a world-class athlete; the aim of this challenge is to complete the 72,180 steps and do something positive whilst we are all social distancing.
Finishers will receive a limited edition medal, made specifically for this challenge, which will be sent out in the post. To 'prove' you've completed the required number of steps within 30 days by photographing your pedometer and emailing this to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Entry is free; all we ask is that you raise a minimum of £10 for taking part. We recommend www.justgiving.com to set up a fundraising page, or we can send you an electronic sponsorship form if you prefer.
