Live in the Park 2014
Over 2,000 music fans from Cheshire and beyond partied in the grounds of Arley Hall on Saturday 12th July in aid of the NMC.
This was our 6th annual outdoor picnic concert, with tributes to some of the greatest acts of all time. Kicking off the evening was warm-up act 'The Vinyls', a four-piece man band performing a variety of well-known pop and rock songs including The Beatles and Rolling Stones, which had everyone up on their feet by 6.30pm! Rock Stewart then took to the stage, who won The National Tribute Awards in 2013 performing as the legendary Rod Stewart. He looked and sounded the part and treated us to a truly memorable show. Desperado 'The Heart of The Eagles' didn't disappoint as the most authentic sounding Eagles tribute in the UK, and finally The Soul Legends Show took to the stage as our headline act, direct from the U.S.A providing all that Motown magic and sweet soul in an explosive performance culminating in a mesmerising firework finale by Nemisis Pyrotechnics.
Guests were able to bring their own picnics, or choose from a range of high quality catering outlets on site. There was a merchandise stall for the audience to stock up on glow sticks, flashing tambourines and maracas or bunny ears, and a photo booth doing instant prints. We also held a raffle with some fantastic prizes including a week-long caravanning holiday and an off-road Landrover driving experience.
We raised a staggering £51,000 from the evening, and would like to thank everyone for attending and making this an outstanding event. Of course the evening would not have happened without an incredible team of volunteers – over 60 people gave up their time for free to help with stewarding, car parking and selling merchandise and raffle tickets, and we were overwhelmed by how hard everyone worked to make Live in the Park a success. We would also like to thank our Corporate supporters for sponsoring banner placements on the stage: Axon IT Specialists, BWMcfarlane Chartered Accountants, Fords of Winsford and Henry Williams and Son and of course Lord Ashbrook for allowing us to hold the concert at Arley Hall.
We're already excited for next year's Live in the Park at Arley Hall in July 2015, so please check future press releases and our website for details of the line-up.
