Join Team NMC for 2016’s Muscle Month Mission
Last year we launched Muscle Month (previously known as Muscle Week). 12 people took part in the Muscle Month marathon with a difference and walked, swam, peddled their way to help us achieve the 26.2 mile target raising a whopping £3,366!!
Are you ready to join us on our 2016 Muscle Month mission?
2016 has seen British Astronaut Tim Peake launch into space for his mission on the International Space Station. He is the first Briton aboard the ISS!
The effects of zero gravity during space flights causes astronauts to experience loss of muscle tissue and bone density. In fact, after five months in orbit above the Earth an astronaut would typically lose as much as 40% of muscle and 12% of bone mass.
Therefore astronauts have to undergo daily rigorous exercise to try to help counteract this.
This has inspired our Muscle Month mission for 2016! Can you help us achieve our mission to get team NMC to the ISS and complete the 460km distance?
Why not be part of the NMC’s “Muscle Month Spaceathlon Team” and do your bit towards this total, whether you swim, cycle, walk or row!
THE EVENT IS RUNNING FOR THE WHOLE OF MAY SO YOU HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO COMPLETE YOUR CHALLENGE THROUGHOUT THE MONTH!
