Thorntons Easter Bunny Run success
Thorntons Easter Bunny Run at Blakemere Village on Saturday 19th March was a huge success for NMC!
Participants were invited to walk, jog, run or even hop in aid of the NMC with Thorntons’ mascot Harry Hopalot. Flashing bunny ears were available to buy and those taking part were also encouraged to wear fancy dress, with Thorntons donating a giant Easter egg to the best dressed participant.
The route started and finished at Blakemere Village’s Event Field, and consisted of 3km or 5km distance options through the Woodland. Dogs were also welcome to take part, and the event was suitable for all ages and levels of ability. Along the course were 100 hidden laminated paper eggs, which could be brought back to the finish line in and exchanged for chocolate Harry Hopalot bunnies. As if this wasn’t enough, a goody bag was also given to each participant filled with chocolate and vouchers for free drinks and money off at Thorntons stores!
The weather fortunately stayed dry and everyone involved had a fantastic time. Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers, who registered participants and also marshalled the route. Special mention to the Rapid Relief Team, a charity that provides support for events such as this.
This was our first Easter Bunny Run, and we’re already looking forward to the next one! Thank you to all the wonderful participants and spectators, and please keep an eye on our website for future fundraising events.
To date we've raised £2,200 from this event, which will increase as sponsorship money is submitted.
