NMC secures Tesco Bags of Help funding for Accessible Allotments Project

The NMC has been awarded an £8,000 grant from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative.

Tesco has teamed up with Groundwork on its Bags of Help initiative, which see grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p bag levy – being awarded to environmental and greenspace projects. NMC's "Accessible Allotments" is one of these lucky projects and we are absolutely delighted to have been selected to receive funding.

An under-utilised part of the NMC garden will very soon be transformed into fully accessible allotments, with raised beds and an accessible greenhouse. It means we will be able to grow our own fruit and veg, hold activity days and allow the NMC and wider community to take part and enjoy gardening.

We would also like to thank The Rotary Club's of Winsford and Middlewich, Knutsford, and Frodsham and Helsby for their support and donations towards this project, totaling £650. This additional funding means we will be able to buy some new adapted tools for the greenhouse and allotments so gardening can be enjoyed by our whole community.
