NMC provides carers breaks, providing vital respite for those living with, and caring for, a loved one with a neuromuscular condition.

Support for carers and families has widened in recent years, with an ever-increasing range of activities and clubs flourishing within the grounds of NMC. These include our craft. shed and gardening clubs, as well as Connect Up, our project to tackle social isolation and loneliness. Our groups are open to all.

NMC is a community of over 3,000 people, of which 600 are carers. We have a close relationship with around 300 of these. Offering support and advice to family members and carers remains an essential commitment of the NMC, and it is encouraging to see that in our recent social audit, 71% of carers feel NMC has had a positive impact on resilience, confidence and self-esteem.
