Yesterday, the extremely talented Sarah Gallagher-Hayes joined us to create an absolutely stunning stag for the NMC grounds, made using our very own willows!
The stag is absolutely incredible, and we believe that it deserves an equally incredible name too! This month, we will be running a 'guess the name of the stag' competition, in which you can nominate a name of your choice for just £1.
At the end of the month, all nominated names will be entered into a draw, and the winner will also receive a bottle of bubbly!
Pop into fundraising to have a go at naming our stag!
Our four iconic weeping willows have had a severe spring trim!
The trees, that are probably about 25 years old, have been pollarded.
They look a bit bare now but will soon re-grow.
Pollarding is done to prevent upper branches breaking off and doing damage to people, cars and buildings. It helps the tree to regenerate and should extend their lives.
We will also benefit from a lot less build up of fallen leaves over the next couple of winters. These can become slimy and slippy, and are a major chore to sweep up.
If you're at the Centre and want some logs then you're very welcome to help yourself.
