Fabulous Fundraisers

Amazing Fundraising in Our NMC Community

Our incredible supporters have been thinking up weird and wonderful ways to raise funds and awareness for us during these uncertain and challenging times. We’re in awe of all the creative ideas out there and enormously grateful to everyone for their support.

If you’ve got a fundraising idea, we’d love to hear from you! Contact Natasha: natasha.froggatt@nmcentre.com

Here’s a few of the wonderful activities people have been up to....

  • Dave Downes recently celebrated a very special birthday and requested donations to NMC in lieu of gifts to mark his 60th. We have received a wonderful £325 from his very generous friends and family.

  • Nigel Levett took on a fundraising walk and has raised a magnificent £350!

  • Gamechangers (our inspirational NMC youth panel) organised a tombola as part of Carers week and raised £68.36. Gamechangers also run a very successful tuck shop at NMC and have much more planned in the coming months.

  • The Lions Over Bowling Club made a very generous donation of £535, choosing us as a beneficiary of their remaining funds following the closure of their group.

  • Peter Murray took on the arduous challenge of running the Brighton Half Marathon and has raised an enormous £290! Peter chose NMC to run for as a close relative accesses our Physio services.

  • Our wonderful garden club volunteer, Julie Evans, participated in our Virtual 3 Peaks challenge and has raised a staggering £790! We invited people during lockdown to walk, jog or run 55km (72,180 steps!) within 30 days to celebrate our 30th year. It’s not too late to join in; see our Challenge Events page for more information.

  • Live in the Park was back for 2021, and our incredible army of volunteers raised a staggering £3262.50 from raffle and merchandise sales alone! Enormous thanks to everyone who supported this event; we were delighted to experience some normality in these challenging times and are already looking forward to 2022!

  • The Ashby family have been fundraising for us via their YouTube channel - Duchenne Bros. Their first fundraiser was a birthday raffle which raised £303!

The 351 volunteers that support the NMC by giving their time, energy, skill and expertise are also very much an essential element of our community.
