NMC Titans
NMC Titans is an established Powerchair Football team founded at NMC in 2016, following a very successful taster session at a Summer Sports Day.
Coordinated by James Taubman (Manager) and Bryn Edwards (Chairman), the enthusiastic and talented team has attracted men and women of all ages and abilities, with the ultimate goal of taking the team to National competitive level.
The team has gone from strength to strength, attracting new players and improving to the point where they are now competing regularly in the Northwest Powerchair Football League (NWPFL). In the team’s first season they finished mid-table and are looking to improve upon this in the current (18/19) season.

Our Team
Our team is currently made up of 12 people with Neuromuscular conditions, with ages ranging from 18 to 56. Half of these have played in the league. This opportunity has provided fantastic experience of competitive team sport, and close friendships have been formed. NMC Titans has also been invaluable in boosting self-esteem for many of the team.
The club is run on a voluntary basis and would not be able to survive without the generous support of Manchester Metropolitan University, and all the staff who help. The family, friends and carers of the team members are also vital for the weekly running of the club, devoting many hours to making the team a success.
We have managed to introduce a handful of new people to the sport, who have attended our training sessions and potentially could join the fray in the future at matchdays. The team is always looking to bring in new players, volunteers to help set up, and we’d love some more spectators!

Anyone who is interested in the exciting sport should come along and give it a go.
The team train every Monday 3-5pm at the Brio/Lifestyle Centre in Winsford. (Note: there is no training session the day after a match).
